Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — One person was taken to hospital with first degree burns after an LP gas tank exploded. Solidaridad firemen were called to the scene on Misión del Carmen Avenue in the 28 de Julio neighborhood when flames were seen coming from the taqueria.
The explosion happened during the early morning hours of Wednesday. The inside of the small restaurant was completely destroyed. Firemen were requested after flames began to shoot out the door where it ate an awning.
Neighbors called the emergency number 911. Both firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene who provided first aid to one person who had to be taken to the hospital for first-degree burns.
