Fugitive wanted for stabbing death of San Diego woman extradited from Mexico

Mexico City, Mexico — A man wanted in San Diego for the murder of a woman has been extradited from Mexico. Francisco “C” was handed over to U.S. Federal Marshals at the Mexico City International Airport Tuesday from where he was returned to California.

According to Mexican officials, Francisco “C” was considered a fugitive, wanted by San Diego authorities for the March of 2020 stabbing death of his then-girlfriend, who he is reported to have murdered in front of her two young daughters.

In compliance with the Extradition Treaty signed between Mexico and the United States, Francisco “C” was extradited after being arrested in Mexicali, Baja California in May of this year.

After his arrest, the Government of Mexico granted the extradition of the defendant to the Government of the United States. He has since been returned to the state of California to face charges of homicide.
