Four Playa del Carmen lawyers arrested for illicit enrichment

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Four public officials have been arrested by agents of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office for their alleged participation in operations and negotiations related to public deeds.

The four lawyers of the Public Registry of Property and Commerce were detained and sent to the Municipal Retention Center Sunday. They are accused of illicit enrichment.

Taken into police custody are Rodrigo N, Arbey N, Erick N and Hilda N, all of whom worked at the Public Registry of Property and Commerce of Solidaridad in the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood.

All four are facing an investigation for their alleged participation in operations and negotiations related to public deeds that could be involved in several state notaries, with the illegal sale of properties in Playa del Carmen and Tulum.
