Huitzilac, Morelos — Four people were killed and 36 hurt in a highway accident in the state of Morelos. Authorities from the municipality of Huitzilac were sent to the scene of an overturned bus early Tuesday.
The bus was transporting at full capacity at the time of the accident. Elements of Civil Protection along with police from Morelos arrived at the scene where they cordoned off the area and closed vehicular traffic.
Local media in Morelos have reported that the bus lost its brakes on a sharp highway curve, which caused it to overturn and crash into a stone wall.
Members of the musical group Banda Real de Huajuapan were part of the passenger list, traveling to the Mixteca of Oaxaca after a presentation in Toluca. It is not clear if any of the deceased were part of the musical group.
