Former Quintana Roo governor to face charges of links to organized crime

Cuernavaca, Morelos — A former Quintana Roo governor will face charges of links to organized crime. Former state governor Roberto “B” could see additional prison time due to the new proceedings against him.

The charges stem from an investigation of organized crime during his time as governor. According to his defense team, the decision was made early Thursday morning at the Almoloya de Juárez Justice Center where Borge remains imprisoned on other charges.

These latest charges add to his criminal process of investigations by the State Attorney General’s Office of Quintana Roo on allegations of embezzlement, illegal use of power, operations with resources of illicit origin and the most recent, link to organized crime.
