First direct New York to Tulum flight lands as part of JetBlue daily schedule

Tulum, Q.R. — On Thursday, the new first New York-Tulum flight belonging to airline JetBlue landed at Tulum International.

This new air connection marks a historic day for tourism in the state. The inauguration of the new direct flight from New York to Tulum is operated by the airline JetBlue with an Airbus A320 aircraft.

The plane touched down shortly after 7:00 a.m. Thursday with 168 passengers. It is scheduled to provide the direct New York to Tulum route daily.

“This new air route symbolizes the beginning of a new era for tourism in Quintana Roo. Our goal is to facilitate access to the most beautiful destinations in our state, promoting economic growth and sustainable development of our state,” Bernardo Cueto Riestra, the State Secretary of Tourism said

“The establishment of this daily flight between New York and Tulum not only reinforces our position as a world-class tourist destination, but also shows our ability to adapt and grow in a competitive global market.

“We are excited to welcome international tourists and continue building on the success and popularity of Tulum,” he added.

He said the new flight is part of a series of initiatives to strengthen the tourist infrastructure of Quintana Roo and improve the experience for visitors.

“We hope that the daily connection between New York and Tulum will significantly boost tourism and benefit the local economy, while offering travelers a more accessible and comfortable way to explore the natural and cultural beauties of our state,” he said.
