Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Solidaridad firemen were requested at the scene of a house fire early Sunday. The fire was reported to emergency services at 6:30 a.m. on Cavaleti Street in Real Ibiza.
There they found the inside of the house filled with thick smoke, preventing the woman who lived there from being able to escape. Firemen broke through the front door and escorted the woman out of the burning home.
She was taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. Firemen also rescued her dog who was found hiding inside the home. A large section of the house was damaged by the fire, however, firemen were able to save the remainder of the home.
“In a heroic effort, firefighters rescued a woman and a dog from the flames in a house in the Real Ibiza subdivision. The prompt response of the elements was crucial to rescue the victims who were inside the property on Cavaleti Street.

“The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. The fire was later extinguished,” Sría de Protección Civil, Prevención de Riesgos y Bomberos de Solidaridad reported. Firemen did not say how the fire started.
