Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Solidaridad firemen were at the scene of a Playa del Carmen building fire late Sunday night. Area residents made the emergency 911 call when they smelled smoke.
A quick walk around the neighborhood alerted them to the fire that was seen burning inside an old building. Firemen rushed to the 35th Street and 99th Avenue location where they found the building smoldering.
Flames were put out without incident. There were no injuries reported. The building was reported vacant at the time of the fire. An electrical short circuit has been listed as the cause of the fire.
