Finnish man arrested after quickening pace at sight of PDC police

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police in Playa del Carmen arrested a Finnish man found in possession of marijuana. The arrest took place Monday when patrolling officers noticed the man quickened his step when seeing them.

The 50 year old identified by police as Hendrik “N”, was taken into custody by municipal officers from the Misión Las Flores subdivision after he was seen dropping a bag. Police recovered the bag, which turned out to be marijuana.

In a statement, police said “the Municipal Citizen Security Secretariat (SSCM) of Solidaridad arrested a male person from Finland, who was found to be in possession of dried grass with the characteristics of marijuana.

“Hendrik “N”, 50 years old, was arrested by Municipal Police officers on the streets of the Misión Las Flores subdivision. After noticing the presence of law enforcement, he began to speed up, causing him to drop a bag containing dried grass with the characteristics of marijuana.

“For the above, the arrested person was placed at the disposal of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Crimes in the form of drug dealing.”
