Holbox, Q.R. — A man has been arrested in the death of a woman after the body of a female taxi driver was discovered on Holbox. Her body was discovered on a beach with her island taxi unit partially submerged in the sea.
According to the State Attorney General, the woman was murdered Saturday. A search began after her family reported her missing when she failed to return home from work. During their search, the body of 29-year-old Karla N was discovered on an area of beach between Punta Ciricote and Punta Coco.
Her body was removed from the island by Cancun officials. On Sunday morning, the Quintana Roo Prosecutor’s Office reported the arrest of Roger C in the murder of Karla N. They say Roger C was arrested on the island, adding that her death resulted from a personal dispute between the two.
On social media, the agency said “The @FGEQuintanaRoo reports that this Sunday Roger C was captured, a probable participant in the femicide of a victim with a private identity in Holbox, Mpio de Lázaro Cárdenas. First investigations establish that the aggression originated from a personal problem between the accused and the victim. The FGE has already started the investigation portfolio.
