García, Nuevo León — Elements of the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) report the finding and seizure of more than 7 tons of marijuana.
The discovery of the drugs was made with the help of a narcotics K-9 who located the packages hidden in the undercarriage of a semi. The FGR says the highway bust was made in the municipality of García in the state of Nuevo León earlier this week.
In their press release, the agency says when carrying out acts of investigation, PFM personnel located an abandoned trailer at the northeast bypass at the height of the kilometre 12 in the municipality. The onsite K-9 was successful in locating a compartment that police say, hide 1,074 packages of marijuana with an approximately weight of 7.3 tons.
The vehicle and the drugs were placed at the disposal of the FGR, who will continue to investigate.
