Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Emiliano Espartaco “N” is facing charges of business extortion against a car rental company in Playa del Carmen. Police say he was arrested November 17 after demanding 100,000 pesos in floor rights and a vehicle.
According to police, Emiliano Espartaco “N” was arrested on November 17 of this year, along with another subject, when he went to a car rental company located in Playa del Carmen where he allegedly requested 100,000 pesos for the payment of “floor rights” and the delivery of a car.
Police reported that he made the demands under threat that “if the demands were not met, he would shoot at the premises.”
The owner of the business filed a complaint with police which lead to his arrest. In their statement, the State Attorney General (FGE) said Emiliano Espartaco “N” was picked up by Investigative Police on a warrant while walking the streets of Playa del Carmen.
He is facing charges “for his probable participation in acts possibly constituting the crime of extortion,” the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) of Quintana Roo reported.
A judge has imposed the precautionary measure of two years of justified preventive detention or the duration of the process against Emiliano Espartaco “N”.
