Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A two vehicle crash along the Federal 307 Friday left a highway mess and a long line of backed up traffic. PDC Transit police were on scene in the scorching heat Friday morning attending to a collision between a private car and public transport van.
The accident happened around 11:00 a.m. at the north end of the city shortly before the Xcalacoco area. The two crashed after a failed U-Turn attempt by the van left the car smashing into the back of it.
The car ended up driving into a display of cactus on a highway property. The van was found rolled onto its side on the median from the highway speed hit. Both drivers were treated for minor injuries.
Tow trucks eventually arrived to clear away the vehicles and relieve the long line of backed up traffic generated due to a closed lane.
