Emergency services respond to PDC motorist reports of single vehicle accident

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A young driver who rammed his car into federal highway infrastructure before overturning was able to get out before it caught fire. On Monday morning, emergency services were sent to the scene of the single vehicle accident on Playa del Carmen Boulevard in response to motorist reports.

The old model car was carrying two when its 21 year old driver Emilio “N” ended up in the central median. Within minutes, the car’s engine began to smoke.

Police say the driver, originally from Oaxaca, was heading north when he lost control, hit infrastructure, rolled and ended up in the median in the southern region of the city.

Almost immediately, his car began to emit smoke at which time he and his passenger quickly vacated. Excessive speed is being factored into a cause for the single vehicle crash, which has not yet been officially determined.
