Huixtla, Chiapas — Elements of the National Guard along with personnel from the Tax Administration Service (SAT) have reported the arrest a subject found transporting more than one ton of cocaine in the state of Chiapas.
The FGE says elements of la Guardia Nacional were performing a routine inspection on a vehicle in the municipality of Huixtla, Chiapas when the discovery was made. The vehicle was reported coming from Tapachula and bound for Tuxtepec, Oaxaca.
Personnel from Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT) were on site at the Centro de Atención Integral al Tránsito Fronterizo where the inspection was made. The FGE says the use of a gamma ray device allowed non-intrusive detection of anomalies in the content of the load.
For this reason military elements chose to carry out a more detailed review, which is when they located 1,285 packages of cocaine weighing approximately 1.2 tons.
The driver of the unit was arrested, who along with the transport truck and cocaine, were made available to the corresponding authorities.
