Bacalar, Q.R. — An elderly Bacalar man was rushed to hospital after a highway hit and run. The accident was reported late Friday night when the unidentified pedestrian was walking along the federal highway.
Passing motorists alerted police who arrived to find the man laying on the road. He was able to tell police that he was hit by a car that kept going. The accident happened near a road to a highway ranch.
Elements of the Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC) arrived with paramedics who transferred the injured man to the Bacalar hospital. Police did not provide details as to where the man was going or why he was walking the highway at night.
