Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Eight fishermen who found themselves adrift Friday were able to make their way back to land, but not before search and rescue were notified.
A female family member notified authorities that the group of eight were missing. A search for their boat began Friday by the Harbor Master’s Office, however, searchers were not successful in locating their vessel.
On the following morning, the fishermen were successful in making their way back to land on their own. They reported experiencing mechanical failure and being left adrift after leaving Playa del Carmen. They appeared Saturday morning at the end of the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood.
The group of eight were reviewed by paramedics, who found them to be in good health.
