Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police were called to a back road in north Playa del Carmen Monday after the discovery of a dead body. The call was made by someone passing through the area around 7:30 a.m.
Police and Sedena military personnel cordoned off a section of the backroad that runs parallel with Avenue Xcalacoco. The body was found in brush by a woman behind one of the private communities.
At the scene, police located the dead body of an adult male inside a black bag. The body was found gagged. FGE personnel arrived to collect evidence before the body was removed. Additional information has not been released.
