Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A restaurant in the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood of Playa del Carmen was reported on fire shortly after midnight Thursday.
Firemen and police responded to the Emergency 911 report, arriving at the central area where they found smoke emanating from inside the restaurant, La Espiga. According to reports, the discovery of the smoking restaurant was made by a worker who said the owners were out of town.
There was no word on damage or a possible cause for the fire. Ministerial Police continue to investigate.
