Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A woman who rolled her car outside Punta Maroma north of Playa del Carmen was able to walk away. The single car accident happened early Tuesday morning, which created a backlog of traffic along the federal 307.
Drivers heading toward Cancun were stuck for more than an hour in standstill traffic after the car rolled on a corner near the popular beach community. It was passing motorists who informed emergency services of the accident.
The National Guard responded to the numerous early morning reports along the Riviera Maya’s busy highway. An ambulance arrived with medical personnel who attended to the driver of the car on scene.
Authorities responding to the accident did not provide a possible reason for the rollover.
