Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A motorcycle driver was killed early Sunday after allegedly running a stop sign. The man was killed after being hit by a car while traveling through the intersection.
Police were called to the scene at Loros and Cigüeñas avenues in Playa del Carmen early Sunday morning in the Villas del Sol neighborhood where they found a destroyed car and dead motorcycle driver.
The accident happened shortly before 4:00 a.m. Paramedics from Playa del Carmen Civil Protection confirmed the death of the motorcyclist at the scene. The 17 year old driver of the car was not injured, however, the front of his vehicle was destroyed in the crash.
The deceased motorcycle driver has not been identified.
