Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A city cab was left with extensive damage late Monday night after slamming into a concrete wall. Municipal Police were sent to a road off El Tintal around 10:00 p.m. where they located the taxi off the highway.
According to the driver, he was entering the Villas del Sol subdivision when a white vehicle cut him off. To avoid hitting the car, he was forced to leave the road. Due to the speed he was traveling, he ended up crunching his car by hitting a concrete retaining wall.
The second vehicle involved took off from the scene of the accident. Paramedics were called to treat the driver and his family, who were passengers in the car at the time of the accident. Police have not said if security cameras are active in that area of Playa del Carmen and could be used to identify the vehicle alleged responsible.
