Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The driver of a compact car fled the scene Wednesday night after hitting two vehicles. Police were called after the driver hit an SUV before slamming into the back of a city garbage truck.
The multi-vehicle accident was recorded on the Arco Vial roadway around 10 p.m. Responding officers found the three vehicle crash on 115th Avenue at the corner of 28 de Julio.
Once the compact car came to a stop, eye witnesses reported seeing the driver and a passenger exit the car and run. The pair headed northbound on 115th Avenue on foot.
Municipal Traffic officers arrived at the scene. All three vehicles were towed while police search for the driver responsible.
