Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen police captured the driver of a car involved in a pedestrian hit and run. On Monday, Solidaridad Municipal Transit reported on the successful capture of the driver of a car that hit a pedestrian then fled.
Police say the female pedestrian was trying to cross Playa del Carmen Boulevard at 27th Street Monday morning when the driver of a Dodge Attitude hit her and kept going. The injured woman, 36-year-old Betzabé “N”, was transferred to hospital for medical attention.
Officers located the vehicle and arrested 44-year-old Hipólito “N” from Yucatán, who withdrew from the scene after the accident. He was captured near Avenida 28 de Julio. He is being held in municipal jail. Charges are pending.
