Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Playa del Carmen motorcycle driver was killed Thursday morning after colliding with the back end of a garbage truck. The accident happened on 115th Avenue around 6:00 a.m. when the driver of the large truck was allegedly attempting a turn.
Both the truck and motorcycle were heading in the same direction when the driver of the garbage truck made a sudden turn to enter a gas station. The driver of the motorcycle ended up clipping the side of the garbage truck, which threw him from his bike.
Police found the 40-year-old motorcycle driver partially under a back set of garbage truck tires. Paramedics pronounced him at the scene. The driver of the motorcycle was reportedly heading to work when the accident happened.
