Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — A car belonging to the city council of Felipe Carrillo Puerto was totaled after slamming into a private home. Police responding to the report of the accident arrived to find the driver had fled the scene.
Reports say the car belonged to the Public Works Department, but was recently assigned to Hernán Poot of the Municipal Treasury. Residents in Emiliano Zapata told police that the car was traveling at excessive speed when it crashed into the side of the house.
A majority of the wall that was impacted caved, leaving the home exposed. The front of the car was destroyed from the hit. There was no word on charges since there was no driver at the scene.
