Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A small cargo truck was completely destroyed Saturday in what is believed to be a rear end crash. The driver of the truck was rushed to Playa del Carmen hospital in serious condition Saturday morning.
Motorists reported the accident to emergency services who arrived to find only one vehicle. The cargo truck is reported to have rear ended a large industrial truck that did not stop.
Both vehicles were heading toward Cancun at the time of the accident. Emergency services found the heavily damaged cargo van north of Playa del Carmen near the Punta Maroma entrance. Police are looking for the second involved vehicle.
