Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A driver who allegedly fell asleep at the wheel collided with a taxi in Playa del Carmen Monday. The morning accident happened along the Playa del Carmen – Tulum highway when, according to police reports, the driver dozed at the wheel.
The van hit a Tulum Tiburones del Caribe union taxi, causing at least 100,000 peso in damage. The driver of the van was transferred to a private hospital for treatment. There was no word on the condition of the taxi driver.
