Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — With the official end of Easter in Riviera Maya, officials have reported 60 medical calls and one alcohol-related death. César Flores, Secretary of Risk Prevention and Civil Protection of Solidaridad said that the medical calls were not only on beaches.
“We have had quite a few incidents, approximately 60, for things such as cuts and blows, but the attention was not based only on the beach, but also at the entry and exit points to Puerto Aventuras and the city,” he explained.
While nearly all of the medical calls were for minor incidences, there was one death. Flores did not elaborate on the death, but did say that it was alcohol related. There is technically one day remaining of the Easter holiday period, for which Flores says, they will continue serving the city until the end of the vacation period.
