Tulum, Q.R. — Direct international flights with U.S. carriers into the Tulum Airport are set to begin in a week. The airport, which opened to national flights in December of 2023, will begin receiving U.S. flights starting March 28.
Spirit Airlines will be the first to offer nonstop flights from two U.S. destinations to Tulum. As of March 28, daily flights from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Orlando (MCO) will begin.
On the same day, American Airlines will also begin flying directly into the Tulum International Airport. As of March 28, U.S. passengers can fly direct on four daily flights.
The flights to Tulum will include two daily flights from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) one daily service from Charlotte (CLT) and one from Miami (MIA).
At the end of that same week, United Airlines will also begin their nonstop flights between the United States and Tulum.
United says it will offer non-stop flights between the U.S. and the Tulum International Airport (TQO) with 22 weekly flights from Newark/New York, Houston and Chicago beginning March 31, 2024.
Other international carriers are set to begin flights into the Tulum International Airport in the summer of 2024. Air passengers at the Tulum airport can choose between taxis or bus services for their ground transportation.
