Cancun, Q.R. — Flights into Cancun from Poland have begun with vacation packages between Rainbow travel agency and LOT Polish Airlines. The new flights began landing at the Cancun International Airport earlier this month.
On Tuesday, Bernardo Cueto Riestra, the State Secretary of Tourism (Sedetur), reported on the two weekly connections.
The new flights will allow Polish travelers to enjoy direct trips to the Mexican Caribbean, reported Bernardo Cueto Riestra, the head of Secretaría Estatal de Turismo (Sedetur).
A Warsaw to Cancun flight is being offered Sundays, while a Katowice to Cancun flight arrives Thursdays. The new Warsaw connection landed at Cancun International November 5. The Katowice flight landed November 14.
The flights are operated on the modern 787 Dreamliner of LOT Polish Airlines.
“This new route will not only facilitate the arrival of Polish tourists, but also opens a key air bridge between two high-potential tourism markets, strengthening the position of Mexico and Quintana Roo as world-class tourist destinations,” he said.
“Air connectivity is essential for the development of our state and to continue strengthening tourism, which is one of the main sources of employment and well-being for Quintana Roo families.
“We applaud the efforts of Rainbow and LOT Polish Airlines, and we are committed to continue working to open new routes that expand growth opportunities for everyone,” said Cueto Riestra.
“The launch of these direct flights underlines the importance of maintaining solid international relations and continuing to promote projects that attract tourists from strategic markets,” he added.
