Holbox, Q.R. — A developer has applied for permits to build a three story apartment building on the island of Holbox. The new real estate project Soul Beach Condos and Residence is set for construction at the west end of the island.
“This project refers to the construction, operation and maintenance of the real estate development,” the submitted environmental impact statement reads. According to the developer, the building will have 11 apartments, a restaurant/bar, a swimming pool and common service and use areas over three levels.
“It is located on Lot 4 of Block 31 of Zone 1 in the town of Holbox, municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas, Quintana Roo, with an area of 878.78 square meters.
“The goal is to build residential spaces for both people who have come to the island to work and for tourists. These are apartments will have various uses and an administrative service for renting them on various platforms, also available to workers.
“Additionally, the building will have a restaurant, bar and pool, services that are in high demand by visitors to the island. It is necessary to have comprehensive spaces that offer all services and thus reduce tourist mobility on the island, since travel is currently done in golf carts, light off-road vehicles, and bicycles,” the application reads.
“This property comprises a real estate development project consisting of 11 apartments, a restaurant/bar and a swimming pool, located on Lot 4, Block 31, Zone 1, Holbox Island.
“It has the following dimensions and boundaries:
• Northwest: 20.00 meters bordering Macabi Street
• Southeast: 20.00 meters in a straight line bordering another property
• Southwest: 43.95 meters in a straight line bordering another property
• Northeast: 44.03 meters in a straight line bordering another property.
“It has three levels. It is a complex of apartments with a conceptual design based on architecture that harmonizes with the construction of Holbox.”
