Costa Maya, Q.R. — A passerby reported the decomposing body of a man on a dirt road in Costa Maya. The man was on his way to his property Saturday morning when he made the finding.
The unidentified passerby called authorities around 11:00 a.m. after realizing the person he saw laying on the dirt road was dead. The body was located approximately 500 meters off the main highway near the community of Chumpon.
Municipal Police of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, with a detachment in the Mayan community of Chumpon, verified the finding. Police are looking into whether or not the deceased male is that of 30-year-old Fabian “N” reported missing from the area October 18.
