Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A cyclist hit by a Solidaridad police truck has died in hospital. The unidentified man was rushed to hospital with undisclosed injuries Wednesday after being hit by the truck on 26th Street.
Witnesses detailed that the man was riding to the main avenue from a side street when the accident happened. As he entered the main street, he was hit by the truck. The police unit involved was responding to an emergency call when the driver hit the bicycle.
Police requested an ambulance, which transferred the man to hospital where he reportedly died several hours later.
