Cozumel welcomes nearly 2 million cruise ship passengers since the reactivation of the industry

Cozumel, Q.R. — During the one year since cruise ship reactivation, the island of Cozumel has welcomed nearly two million cruise ship passengers. According to the general director of the Integral Port Administration of Quintana Roo (Apiqroo), Alicia Ricalde Magaña, from June 2021 to June 2022, 926 cruise ships have docked Cozumel with nearly two million passengers.

After the reactivation in 2021, 650,117 cruise ship passengers visited the island. Since then, those numbers have continued to increase, she said. From January to June of 2022, 1,261,896 passengers visited the island of Cozumel on 573 cruise ships.

She reported that during the past 12 months, those ship figures were distributed between the Puerta Maya, Punta Langosta and SSA Mexico docks.
