This ship, which flies the flag of Malta, has a capacity for 900 passengers distributed in 461 suites with sea views. The ship docked at the Punta Langosta international cruise terminal Friday as part of its itinerary.

Cozumel Mayor José Luis Chacón Méndez met the ship’s Captain, Pietro Sinisi. “In my 30-year career I have had the privilege of visiting numerous destinations, but Cozumel is, without a doubt, one of the best due to the warmth of its people and its incomparable natural beauty,” Sinisi said.

MSC Explora I launched on August 1, 2023, is the first ship in the Explora class. Some on-ship amenities include 10 bars and lounges, nine world-class restaurants, and an exclusive Rolex store with stock, a first for the cruise industry, according to Bianca Regina Vaz, Future Journeys Ambassador for Explora Journeys.
