Cozumel receives Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady for first time

Cozumel, Q.R. — The island of Cozumel has received a new cruise line for the first time. On Tuesday, Virgin Voyages ship Scarlet Lady docked at the Punta Langosta maritime terminal where mayor Juanita Alonso Marrufo greeted its arrival.

The Virgin Voyages cruise ship, with capacity for 2,770 passengers and 1,160 crew members, docked at the island for the day. The ship and her guests were entertained with a pre-Hispanic cultural show as they disembarked.

Dignitaries were on hand for the Virgin ship’s first docking, which was lead by Captain Giovanni Schiaffino. The cruise ship was scheduled to make the trip in April of 2020, however, the pandemic caused her to remain in port until now.

Scarlet Lady is a four to five night Caribbean adult-only cruise that sets sail from Miami.
