Bacalar, Q.R. — A transparent boat belonging to a Cozumel company has been returned. The boat, which went missing after the company announced its intention to begin operating on the Bacalar Lagoon, was returned.
The boat was handed back to its rightful owners by order of the FGE after the Cozumel-based company filed a complaint for assault, damage, kidnapping and threats against Bacalar boatmen.
Representative of the Emvatours de Cozumel company, Daniel García, confirmed that the State Attorney General’s Office delivered the boat with a cost of more than 3 million pesos, which presents damages that will be recorded in the corresponding complaint.
He acknowledged that after the altercations with the Bacalar boatmen, they are not certain about providing the tourist service on the lagoon. Garcia said that they intend to have discussions with members of the Association of Nautical Service Providers of Bacalar.
