Costa Maya, Q.R. — A two dump-truck crash along a Costa Maya highway sent one driver to hospital. On Friday, National Guard responded to the report of a collision between the two heavy units.
Upon arrival, they found both vehicles with a significant amount of damage. The accident happened along a section of the Chetumal-Escárcega highway. Humberto García Gutiérrez lead the team of paramedics who treated the injured dump truck operator at the scene before his hospital transfer.
Road traffic was affected by the accident since it happened in a heavily traveled area due to Maya Train work. National Guard Highway Division estimated a five-kilometer long line of backed up traffic due to the accident.
Details surrounding the cause of the accident are unknown.
