Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A convenience store worker was found stabbed to death in Playa del Carmen. Police were called to the scene in Jardines de Ciudad Mayakoba around 6:40 a.m. Friday.
According to initial reports, the discovery was made by a coworker of the victim when they arrived to change shifts. The body was found laying on the floor in a pool of blood near a storage area inside the store. The deceased was reported stabbed more than a dozen times.
The area was cordoned off by Municipal Police while the body was removed. Police have not released any details surrounding the death. It is not known if the victim is a male or female. A possible motive is also unclear.
