Bacalar, Q.R. — A worker who was hit by a train car was killed Tuesday. The accident happened near the town of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in the municipality of Bacalar.
The car was being moved by a crane when it struck the worker killing him. The accident was reported to have occurred around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on site of the Maya Train.
According to early information, cars were being moved by a crane when one fell on the worker. The unnamed Maya Train construction worker was pronounced on scene by paramedics. He reportdly died from head trauma.
Reports say the operator of the crane fled at the time of the accident. Municipal police in Bacalar are looking for him.
