Connecticut receives extradited criminal from Mexico

Mexico City, Mexico — The Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) says Fernando “S” has been returned to the U.S. to face charges in Connecticut. The suspect was delivered to American authorities Monday at the Mexico City International Airport.

“Between 2017 and 2018, Fernando “S”, as a member of a criminal organization in Mexico, was in charge of coordinating drug shipments for distribution to the United States,” the FGR reported in a statement.

Fernando “S”, a person of Mexican nationality, was requested by the Federal District Court of Connecticut for drug and criminal association.

“In September 2022, this individual was detained in Culiacán, Sinaloa and after various procedures carried out by the FGR, the Government of Mexico granted the extradition of the person sought to the United States Government,” they said.
