Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche — A small plane that crash landed on a beach in the neighboring state of Campeche has been removed. The incident happened Tuesday evening around 6:00 p.m. when the two people on board made a sudden crash landing.
The pilot of the company plane was flying with a German passenger who was taking aerial photos. The Geo Air company that owns the plane specializes in cartography and was flying over Isla del Carmen when a mechanical failure forced the pilot to make an emergency landing on the beach.
The small plane ended upside down on Playa Carmelita. Both men onboard, pilot Omar “R” and his passenger, 50-year-old Kost “H”, received only minor injuries.
The plane has since been towed from the beach to a federal facility where it will undergo an inspection into the official cause of the crash.
