Colombians detained after clandestine brothel shut down in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen authorities shut down, what is believed to be, a clandestine brothel in the city’s center. Late Sunday, police were seen at the 28th Street location.

From inside, several women said to be of Colombian nationality were detained on charges of prostitution. The closing of the establishment was part of a citywide weekend inspection operation by local authorities.

The women have since been transferred to the National Migration Institute (INM). City inspectors proceeded to shut down the unnamed brothel.
