Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Colombian food vendor was gunned down in broad daylight Tuesday in Playa del Carmen. Municipal officers arrived at the Paseos del Mayab Avenue and Calle 38 Norte location to a dead adult male.
The shooting happened at the main entrance to the Selvanova residential complex around 4:45 p.m. Witnesses reported two individuals riding a motorcycle heading toward the food stand and opening fire.
The Colombian man, who owned the food kiosk, was killed in the targeted attack.
According to witnesses, the responsible subjects fled south along Paseos del Mayab. Elements of the State Police and Municipal Citizen Security arrived to start an investigation. So far no arrests have been made.
Earlier this week, a Canadian man was shot and killed by subjects riding a motorcycle. He was shot while inside his vehicle in a Playa del Carmen parking lot. After his murder, it was revealed that he had international drug ties.
