Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The operational part of the Municipal Civil Protection Secretariat will take over three ambulances of the Solidaridad Fire Department.
Alejandro Contreras Díaz, the General Director of Civil Protection, said the take-over process began earlier this week. He said the change is part of an agency work plan that will see the ambulances remain at the Solidaridad Fire Department, but under the management of Civil Protection.
“It was a decision for improvement by our Secretary. There is a work plan that is being followed up properly and now the responsibility is on that side,” he explained.
Contreras Díaz says the Solidaridad Fire Department responds to an average of 12 calls a day, averaging 400 emergency calls per month using the three ambulances.
