Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Elements of Solidaridad Civil Protection are looking into a parachuting incident that happened Thursday afternoon. The agency was notified after the main parachute failed to open during a tandem jump.
The small plane left the Playa del Carmen airfield on 15th Avenue and 5th Sur around noon. During the jump, the skydiver was forced to resort to the emergency chut.
While the skydiver and tourist landed safely, Civil Protection were called in. The pair landed in the Chenzubul area near Playa 72 in the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood.
Civil Protection personnel are looking into the reason for the main parachute failure. In the meantime, the PDC company’s documents were reviewed so the municipal agency could create the necessary report.
No one was injured in the afternoon mishap.
