Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The Playa del Carmen City Council is preparing to regulate the unused space under the city’s overpass system. The municipality of Solidaridad says they are analyzing the available space since it is only being used for random parking.
Raúl Tassinari González, the Public Security Secretariat of Solidaridad, says City Council will propose to regulate the use of the space under the Playa del Carmen Boulevard overpasses.
These areas, he says, are used as parking lots by motorists and car agencies, something that the municipal government cannot allow.
He commented that if the regulation proposal is approved, the agency in charge will ask the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) to formulate a project to adapt the space so the city can have control over them.
“Let’s hope that this year we can achieve usefulness of the space with the SICT,” he said.
