Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Neighbors in a Playa del Carmen area were responsible for the citizen detainment of a man who allegedly killed a minor child of approximately four years of age. The citizen’s arrest happened after neighbors intervened in a family quarrel between the minor’s mother and stepfather.
The incident happened in the Villas del Sol subdivision of Playa del Carmen when authorities received a 3:00 a.m. call of domestic violence that resulted in physical aggression toward the child’s mother and the stabbing death of the girl.
Reports say the man tried to flee the home, but neighbors caught and detained him until police arrived. Paramedics arrived at the home, but unfortunately, the young girl died from knife wounds to her chest. Both the girl’s mother and stepfather were detained. The Fiscalía General of Quintana Roo says José H was taken into official police custody.
The FGE reports that “first investigations indicate that early Wednesday morning -and apparently under the influence of toxic substances – the couple had a fight and José H caused injuries to the minor that deprived her of life.” The minor’s body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service, while José H was handed over to the State Attorney General.
