Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Solidaridad Municipal Police officers have arrested a minor in possession of a firearm and nearly 600 bags of narcotics. The arrest of the 17-year-old was made over the weekend in central Playa del Carmen.
Arresting officers found the teen in possession of a loaded handgun as well as 580 street bags of drugs that included marijuana, methamphetamine, crack and powdered cocaine, among others.
“Preventive Police were carrying out a surveillance tour on 25th Avenue and 1st South Street when they observed a subject had what appeared to be the handle of a firearm protruding from his waist while he was carrying a suitcase,” the SSC reported in a statement.
Venancio “N”, 17 years old and from Chiapas, was detained in central Playa del Carmen and placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic.
